We’ll explore transparent watercolor, create interesting shapes, capture good space division, and develop each artists’ individual painting style. Students will work at their own levels. The Arts Workshop is a nonprofit community arts organization located one block from Barracks Row/Main Street and two blocks south of the Eastern Market Metro.

So why a blog? I figure those who are interested would enjoy learning more about the organization, the amazing faculty that teach here, and the broad reach the Arts Workshop has as an arts center. Once the blog gets going, it will also be valuable to hear feedback on how people utilize the Arts Workshop and to learn more about what the community needs.

I look forward to this cyber experiment and to seeing where it takes us.

If you are not familiar with the Arts Workshop, visit the website at http://www.chaw.org. There you'll be able to learn about our classes and workshops and our unique history serving Capitol Hill and the DC area.

Here we go,

Jonathan Darr
Capitol Hill Arts Workshop
